Choose one finish line

A priority becomes easier to work on when you can see what finished looks like. Pick one result that matters this week and fits the time you actually have. Avoid goals such as "be productive" that give you no stopping point.

  1. List the three unfinished things taking up the most mental space. Circle the one with a useful, near-term consequence.
  2. Describe a visible deliverable and a deadline. Cut scope until it can fit in three to five short work blocks.
  3. Name what you will deliberately leave for another week. Protecting a priority requires a trade-off.

Example. Instead of "work on my portfolio", use "publish one case study with a problem, three process images and a result by Friday".

Keep your focus plan grounded.

Use your completed weekly plan to choose a question: what deserves your time, how to protect it, or how to repeat a useful action.

    How will I begin again?

    Atomic Habits

    James Clear

Keep in view: A repeatable habit still needs a worthwhile goal.

Compare the perspectives.

Essentialism helps you choose the work. Deep Work helps you protect time for it. Atomic Habits helps you repeat the behaviour. Start with the part of your weekly plan that feels least workable.

Bring it back to your worksheet.

Return to your planner: keep one priority, reserve a realistic block and write a small start cue. Change one element, then review what happened.
